Content team is great, everyone fares well and is very encouraging. Work is great.
A few editors may be unfit for the position, at the bureau's side.
One of the most dynamic places to work in if you've managed to land an editorial job. Was a journalist for three years and had the most fun time in my life. You get to meet important people, travel, and make contacts. What was most important for me was the ability to effect change in the society. As a journalist, you are able to shape public opinion over an issue. What I enjoyed most was investigative journalism, where you get to really write expose-style stories. All in all, a wonderful company to work with.
Tight deadlines, no work-life balance. Can't recall how many times I had to cancel dinner plans to chase a story. The life of a journalist can be dangerous. There are some job hazzards associated with the work.
Stable salary, work place is ok
company is too big, management and control is not in place
good colleagues, benefits, opportunity to learn, diverse business units to transfer etc
poor leadership, outdated practices, bureaucratic, legacy management issue
A good place for retirement but no growth as opportunities are rare. Literally you can get away with murder for most senior management staff. Abuses are so rampantly seen.
Most senior and old staff do not have qualification and they are real stumbling blocks to the company as they are no longer relevant
Great colleagues, good benefits from company and healthy pay rate
Management and HR is a huge mess. Layers of bureaucracy and old timers make change hard. Constant retrenchment scare from mismanagement even before Covid. Turnover and retrenchment meant one person do many ppl job.
- Helpful and friendly colleagues
- Understaffed, overworked without proper increment - Higher-ups not willing to listen to ideas/complaints/solutions but expect staff to produce miracles - Very little room for career growth/salary advancement
Flexible working hours Two months contractual bonus
Wish to work under a better immediate superior
Had the opportunity to use several tools and software.
Very boomers culture, slow in digitalization. Still stuck in the old paper era. REfuse to leverage on social media.
