The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations including culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room service services. This role involves managing guest and employee satisfaction, maintaining standards, meeting financial goals, and ensuring compliance with relevant food and beverage laws and regulations. The manager develops and implements business plans and leads the food and beverage team to deliver excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
High school diploma or GED with four years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional areas; or a two-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with two years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.
Ability to develop and manage budgets and maintain cost management indices for kitchen and restaurant operations.
Capability to lead, supervise, and manage food and beverage departments and employees, including day-to-day operations and providing coaching and counseling.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage team members.
Proficiency in maintaining and prioritizing departmental goals and setting clear expectations for employees and team leaders.
Commitment to providing excellent customer service and responding promptly to guest concerns.
Knowledge of brand service culture and ability to align employees to this culture.
Skill in managing human resource activities including performance reviews, employee development, and training.
Ability to comply with corporate accounting procedures and ensure effective departmental communication.
Capability to analyze information and solve problems effectively.
