The Lead Devops Engineer (Onsite) role at Cognizant's Digital Engineering practice involves working on high-performing, scalable enterprise applications. The engineer collaborates closely with product managers, designers, and clients to deliver valuable software rapidly. The role emphasizes agile development, continuous improvement, and team success, and requires experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, containerized applications, security practices, and automation scripting, particularly in regulated environments such as healthcare.
Job Requirements
8+ years of experience developing and building high-performing enterprise applications.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Experience designing and maintaining cloud infrastructure on Azure and GCP.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitOps, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.
Experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes (AKS, GKE, OpenShift).
Knowledge of security best practices and tools such as SonarQube and JFrog Artifactory.
Experience managing feature deployments with LaunchDarkly.
Ability to develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
Familiarity with AI tools like Windsurf to build self-service tools.
Understanding of HIPAA and SOC2 compliance requirements.
Experience configuring and optimizing build agents.
Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure issues independently.
10+ years in IT infrastructure and operations.
5+ years hands-on DevOps experience.
Preferred experience in healthcare or regulated environments.
Technical skills in cloud platforms (Azure, GCP), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and container orchestration.
Strong Linux/Unix administration skills.
Experience with infrastructure monitoring and observability tools.
Cloud certifications (Azure, GCP, or Kubernetes) are a plus.
