The Video Subject Matter Expert at Cognizant Technology Solutions will provide technical expertise in video encoding, streaming, and transport protocols. This role involves guiding architecture, design, testing, and optimization of video delivery platforms by collaborating with engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure high-quality and standards-compliant video experiences.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in video compression, delivery, and streaming systems.
Hands-on knowledge of MPEG standards such as MPEG-2 TS, MPEG-4, HEVC, AV1, AAC, and Dolby.
Strong understanding of video streaming protocols and adaptive bitrate delivery.
Experience with video players, DRM integration, and CDN delivery workflows.
Familiarity with Linux, C/C++, Python, or Java for video-related development or troubleshooting.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex video pipeline issues.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
Ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
Passion for innovation in video technologies and user experience.
