Managers all got to their positions because they have been in the company for many years, not because of how competent they are. Incompetent people stay for a long time (as long as they play the politics game), hence the "talent pool" where management comes from. If you do a good job, you are seen as a threat. Internal mobility is virtually non-existent. They make it extremely difficult by having ridiculous rules all around. I NEVER saw something like this anywhere.

Hours can be quite long

Lay-offs are massive and happen often, back to back.

The people. Management is juvenile and show obvious bias towards their favorites and blatant rudeness towards those that aren’t.

Some managers are toxic and too pokeing

Change can be either liked or disliked

Some people may find processes overwhelming. But, streamlining of the processes is already happening.

low bonus compared to peers

1. Employees are mostly vendors of foreign nationality and there is a lack of support and guidance from them. More often that not, when guidance is needed, they will just totally ignore your request for help. 2. No clear directions and guidance from manager. When a particular task is assigned to you, there is no whatsoever details about the task that will be shared to you. They just expect you to know everything.

Bad development options, below average salary.

Internal processes are too complicated

Has politics same as anywhere else.

Management; Policy; Schedules; Incentives; Rotation.

Lack of experienced managers- seems to be a lot of turnover especially in management

Lagging in technology development, salary is lower than market, limited career opportunities

Siloed environment unless you make a conscious effort to break down boundaries

2 times per week work from office

There is a lot of politics in the management.

Nothing I can think of

1. Lot of mediocre people 2. No growth scope

More flexibility is needed in applying for jobs anywhere in the world

Recent news are causing a bit of unsettlement and nervousness, but I think the team is coping very well.

Some managers of people should not be managers of people. They haven't mastered the subtle art of influence and instead rely on intimidation and micromanagement. And while there are many opportunities to advance, movement within the company is becoming more challenging.

Low paying as compared to industry standard

Most of the businesses are located in US and UK. Canada is mostly a tech hub. So limited co-location.

Structure can bee sometimes too rigid

unethical decisions made solely for financial reasons

Sometimes the effort in the quality of recruitment is weak

Having to go into office 3 days per week

not much of a social scene

Poor infrastructure. Toxic environment. No mental well-being.

Developer focussed culture, no clarity on career advancement for other than developers

Constant system issues and not enough staffing

* They did overhauling in the org. They are firing higher ups whose roles are redundant which is good but they even went as far as downgrading concessionaire the food they sell is the same everyday, they also removed the security guards in each floors leaving only roving guards and guards in the lobby area. * It's more like a normal call center with a toxic "boss" vibe now and a very stressful work environment compared to being prestigious years before. Every people I know now always talk about plans or opportunities outside, unlike before everyone is inspired to move up. * a lot more new metrics that are not effective and are just not necessary. There's so much things that they demand to employees but are not compensated well. A lot of things changed when Mike Corbat left the org and it is very saddening It feels like there is no future anymore in this organization.

Tribal departments fighting for resources which leads to situational unbalance Poor promotion structure which leads to exploitative mangers promising promotions but rarely delivering Toxic working culture that expects you to pay for the pleasure of socialising with management outside of working hours or you will receive less visible and rewarding work

Pretty slow place, no management decisions are taken and things go with the flow

alot of work analysis and document reading

Don’t expect citi to pay for anything like staff Xmas meal etc

Bonuses are not the greatest

IT shared system outdated. Technical issues. Quality assurance and Compliance.
