Great place to work and start a career. Work/life balance is great and so are the benefits. You get a $500 annual stipend to really do whatever you want with which is amazing. Culture is amazing and teammates are chill. Job can be worked remotely which increases flexibility. The role provides exposure to a lot of different investor relations teams and experiences. Additionally, you learn about different aspects of the financial markets with a unique perspective.
Pay isn't bad by itself however, it is really low relative to the market and that is the only downside. It's not uncommon for teammates to find better opportunities in the financial sector elsewhere after 2-3 years. Typically you have to pick up extra work when that happens. Additionally, promotions are fairly opaque and there aren't really guidelines or a framework for how your career (aka compensation) can grow in the role or at the company - which is likely another factor in why people search for better opportunities after a few years. Raises aren't significant and they really only match inflation. If you spend 3-5 years in the role, you can take a peek at LinkedIn jobs to see roles with your experience advertising 1.5-2x your base comp which makes it a no brainer to leave. The unique experiences that was described in my pros makes it relatively easy to find new opportunities if the job market is aligned.
