From the very beginning I noticed that SE is a very serious company to be working for: The constant attention given to the employee regarding his/her needs is very comforting. My manager and colleagues have always been really helpful when I've needed their support. Plus, the benefits offered are like no other company.
Given that the company is present in all continents and is more than a century old, it may have become somewhat bureaucratic in some requests, but my belief is that such thing is unavoidable.

Management is very engaging and supportive, you will be free to work in your own style so there is little to no micro-management. You feel welcomed and most people are easily approachable. Appraisals are above average compared to industry standards.
