Job Description

The Restaurant Manager - Japanese is responsible for supervising daily restaurant operations, including restaurants, bars, and room service if applicable. This role involves assisting with menu planning, maintaining sanitation standards, supporting servers and hosts during peak meal periods, and driving improvements in guest and employee satisfaction as well as financial performance. The manager leads the food and beverage team by providing direction, coaching, and training while ensuring compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards, regulations, and laws. Exceptional customer service is a core focus, with the manager handling guest feedback, problem resolution, and fostering a positive atmosphere for guests and employees. Additionally, they manage human resource activities, oversee financial aspects of the department, and support the team during high-demand times.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area, OR a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with 2 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead and influence a team.

Ability to maintain service and sanitation standards.

Knowledge of local, state, and federal liquor laws.

Capable of managing day-to-day restaurant operations and staffing levels.

Ability to handle guest problems and complaints effectively.

Skills in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.

Knowledge of food & beverage policies, standards, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Ability to oversee financial aspects including purchasing and invoice payments.

Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive guest experience.

Ability to implement training programs and ensure employee ongoing education.

Capability to analyze information, solve problems, and choose appropriate solutions.

Maintain open and collaborative relationships within the team and with guests.
