This role requires expertise in payroll, tax, and labor compliance, and fluency in both Japanese and English to support collaboration with local and global teams.
Fluency in both Japanese and English.
Strong knowledge of payroll, tax, and labor compliance.
Experience managing payroll operations within a shared services model.
Ability to ensure compliance with local labor, tax, and social insurance laws.
Skill in supervising external payroll vendors and ensuring service level agreements are met.
Capability to handle payroll process auditing, reconciliation, and approvals.
Experience managing escalations and complex employee payroll inquiries.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Legal, HRBPs, and IT.
Experience supporting internal and external audits related to payroll.
Ability to maintain and improve payroll policies, procedures, and controls according to global and local standards.
Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members in payroll or HR operations.
Participation in system enhancements, automation projects, and HRIS/payroll system implementation or upgrades.
